Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are popular treatments for treating facial lines and wrinkles. They can also be used by an experienced medical practitioner to lift and contour the face. A filler works to fill out wrinkles and lines by the injection of a substance called hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance found in our skin.

As we age, skin loses its natural hyaluronic acid, leading to a loss of volume and the formation of wrinkles and sagging skin.Dermal Fillers replace the lost volume in the treated area, smooth away any facial lines and wrinkles, they can create fuller lips and contour and hydrate the skin. They can be used to beautify, correct, and balance your profile by augmenting the appearance of the face, creating facial contours, lifting the face, enhancing cheek bones and defining the jawline.

Areas that can be treated include:

  • Nose to Mouth Lines
  • Lipstick Lines
  • Lip Enhancement
  • Jawline Definition
  • Acne Scarring
  • Cheek Enhancement
  • Remodel Chin
  • Reshape Nose

Dermal Fillers are hugely popular as the effects are instant, and you can return to normal activities straight away. Results last between 6 and 24 months depending on the product used.

Profhilo

Profhilo is an award-winning treatment, used for restoring a more youthful look to the face and neck. It is an injectable procedure that helps to add volume to the underlying tissues of the skin, however it is not considered to be a ‘filler’. As an effective solution for turning back the clock on ageing, Profhilo can reduce the appearance of common ageing-related concerns, including lines and wrinkles, facial volume loss, loose skin, and a dull / dry complexion.

Whilst Profhilo® treatment is based on pure hyaluronic acid (HA) technology, it’s not a filler but a skin booster. It hydrates the skin, as well as stimulating four different types of collagen and elastin by slowly releasing hyaluronic acid, the key to younger-looking and rejuvenated skin. It is especially effective at treating loose skin in the face.

Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid-based product for treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, it is not only boosts, hydrates, and firms the skin but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.

How many treatments of Profhilo will I need?

A course of Profhilo® involves two sessions spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. Subsequent treatments will then be suitable every 3-6 months.

What are dermal fillers? Expand

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments designed to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are typically made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, and are used to plump up the skin and add volume to areas that have lost elasticity or fullness due to ageing.

What areas can be treated with dermal fillers? Expand

Dermal fillers can be used to treat a variety of areas, including lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, under-eye hollows, and jawline. They can also be used to enhance facial features, such as adding definition to the lips or chin.

How do dermal fillers work? Expand

Dermal fillers work by adding volume to the skin and filling in wrinkles or hollow areas. They are injected directly into the treatment area, where they plump up the skin and smooth out lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers can also stimulate collagen production, which helps improve skin texture and elasticity over time.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers? Expand

Dermal fillers offer numerous benefits, including:

  • Restoring lost volume and fullness to the face
  • Smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines
  • Enhancing facial contours and definition
  • Improving the appearance of scars or hollow areas
  • Providing natural-looking results with minimal downtime
How long do dermal fillers last? Expand

The longevity of dermal fillers depends on several factors, including the type of filler used, the treatment area, and individual metabolism. In general, hyaluronic acid fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 1 years, while other types of fillers may last longerup to 2 years. Maintenance treatments may be required to maintain results over time.

Are dermal fillers safe? Expand

Dermal fillers are considered safe when administered by a trained and experienced healthcare professional. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, including bruising, swelling, redness, and allergic reactions. It's essential to choose a reputable provider and discuss any concerns or medical conditions with your injector before treatment.

Is there any downtime after dermal filler injections? Expand

Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after dermal filler injections. However, some temporary side effects, such as swelling, bruising, or redness, may occur and typically subside within a few days. It's essential to follow post-treatment care instructions provided by your injector to minimize any discomfort and ensure optimal results.

Can dermal fillers be combined with other treatments? Expand

Yes, dermal fillers can be combined with other aesthetic treatments, such as wrinkle relaxing injections, laser therapy, or chemical peels, to achieve comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

Who is a good candidate for dermal fillers? Expand

Good candidates for dermal fillers are generally in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the results. Dermal fillers are not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with certain medical conditions, or those with a history of allergic reactions to filler ingredients.

How soon will I see results from dermal filler injections? Expand

Results from dermal filler injections are typically visible immediately after treatment, though some swelling or bruising may temporarily obscure the final outcome. As any initial swelling subsides, you will notice the full effects of the treatment, which may continue to improve over the following weeks.
