AviClear

Here at Southface Dermatology we offer the latest technology for acne treatment - AviClear. AviClear is a safe effective alternative to drugs for acne and offers long term clearance after just three treatments.

What is AviClear?

AviClear is a cutting-edge laser device designed to treat acne at its source. Utilising advanced laser technology, AviClear targets and reduces the activity of sebaceous glands, which are responsible for oil production. By controlling oil production, AviClear helps minimise acne breakouts and promotes clearer, healthier skin.

AviClear is the first FDA- cleared device for the treatment of acne. Southface Dermatology is the only clinic on the South Coast of England with the technology.

  • FDA-Cleared device to treat mild, moderate, and severe acne
  • Suited to all skin types and skin tones
  • Three, 30-minute treatment sessions

How Does AviClear Work?

AviClear works by delivering targeted laser energy deep into the skin to selectively heat and reduce the activity of sebaceous glands. This process decreases oil production, which in turn reduces the formation of acne. The treatment is precise, ensuring that surrounding skin tissue remains unaffected.

Benefits of AviClear

  • Effective Acne Reduction: Reduces the frequency and severity of acne breakouts.
  • Non-Invasive: No needles, incisions, or surgery required.
  • Minimal Downtime: Quick recovery time allows you to resume daily activities immediately.
  • Safe for All Skin Types: Suitable for various skin tones and types.
  • Long-Lasting Results: Provides sustained improvement in skin clarity.

What to Expect During Treatment

  1. Consultation: Your journey begins with a thorough consultation with our dermatologists to determine if AviClear is right for you.
  2. Preparation: The treatment area will be cleansed, and a cooling gel will be applied to ensure comfort.
  3. Treatment: The AviClear handpiece is gently applied to the skin, delivering controlled laser pulses. You may feel a slight warming sensation, but the procedure is generally comfortable.
  4. Post-Treatment Care: Post-treatment instructions will be provided to maximize results and ensure proper skin care.

Treatment Schedule

For optimal results, a series of 3-5 treatment sessions spaced a few weeks apart is typically recommended. During your consultation, our dermatologists will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your skin’s needs.

Is AviClear Right for You?

AviClear is ideal for individuals who have not seen satisfactory results with traditional acne treatments or who prefer a non-invasive option. Whether you have mild, moderate, or severe acne, AviClear can help you achieve clearer skin.

How does AviClear work?
 Expand

AviClear uses the power of light to target acne at the source. This laser treatment selectively targets and down regulate the sebaceous glands. The overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands is one of the leading causes of acne.

Yes, AviClear treatments are safe when performed by a trained and certified dermatologist. The procedure is non-invasive and has been clinically tested for safety and efficacy.

What can I expect during an AviClear treatment session? Expand

How many treatments are recommended?
 Expand

For most patients three, 30-minute treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart are required.

When can I see results? Expand

The timing of improvements can differ. 87% of patients treated with AviClear saw at least half of their acne go at 6 months, following treatment. And results usually continue to improve with time, even 12 months after treatment.
