Medical Microneedling

We now use Dermapen ® Treatments often in combination with specific growth factor serums to enhance the remodelling of collagen.

There is little downtime and this stimulates the skins own natural growth to improve the appearance of pigmentation problems, fine lines, scars and stretch marks.

Medical microneedling is not a quick fix. It requires several treatments but results, although not immediate, are long lasting – taking a few weeks to show.

Dermapen® is normally offered as a course of 1-6 treatments, depending on your individual needs.

Here at Southface Skin Clinic we carry out a detailed consultation prior to the microneedling procedure to create a bespoke treatment plan for your individual needs.

Firstly, we will apply an anaesthetic cream to the area to be treated; this will be left on for one hour to take effect. Once the cream is removed, the Dermapen® is rolled across the skin to make thousands of tiny puncture marks in the skin. These tiny punctures cause the body to produce new skin cells and collagen as it heals itself. The whole procedure will take approximately one hour, depending upon the areas to be treated. Treatments are normally offered 6 weeks apart to allow new collagen to grow.
