Thread Vein Removal

Thread veins are tiny veins that appear most commonly on the cheeks, nose and legs. They do not typically present a health risk but can be embarrassing.

Treatments from £80

We treat facial thread veins and some body veins with either NDYag  Laser or Intense Pulsed Light. The energy bursts selectively close down the veins without damaging surrounding tissue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Want to know more? Be sure to check the FAQ or get in touch!

What will happen during the procedure? Expand

Depending on the technology used you will feel either a pricking sensation or a warm sensation in the area as it is treated. We will use a cooler to cool the skin and a calming cream. Larger veins can darken and small veins appear more pink for a number of days. The veins will gradually fade over the next few weeks.

Can all skin colours be treated? Expand

Most skin types can be treated, We will assess your skin and advise the best treatment for you.

How many treatments will I need? Expand

Numbers of treatments differ for each case. It can be between 1 and 6 treatments.

Can tanned skin be treated? Expand

Unfortunately not, we avoid treating freshly tanned skin as this can lead to undesirable reactions in the skin and even permanent damage. Your clinician will assess your skin and advise you on whether you are suitable for treatments.

Is there a risk of complications? Expand

After the treatment, you may develop some temporary redness and darkening of the larger veins. If redness occurs it usually settles within hours.  Darkening of large veins can take a few weeks to reduce. There is a very slight risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation (darkening or lightening) of the skin, which is why it is important to use a medical-grade sunblock (SPF 30 or above) after the treatment.

How often will I need treatments? Expand

Usually every 4 weeks.
