Frequently asked questions
What will happen during the procedure?
The area to be treated should be shaved within 24 hours of treatment. The skin is cooled with the latest advanced cooling system to minimise any sensitivity. Treatment time depends on the area to be treated, we have the fastest technology available. A calming cream or sun cream will be applied the end.
Can all skin colours be treated?
Yes, we have different types of lasers so that all types from dark to light can be treated.
How many treatments will I need?
Treatments are dependant on the individual. The usual number of treatments required is between 6 and 8.
Can tanned skin be treated?
Unfortunately not, we avoid treating freshly tanned skin as this can lead to undesirable reactions in the skin and even permanent damage. Your clinician will assess your skin and advise you on whether you are suitable for treatments.
Is there a risk of complications?
After the treatment you may develop some temporary redness and sometimes some temporary perifollicular oedema (bumps around the hair follicle). If this occurs it settles within hours. There is a very slight risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation (darkening or lightening) of the skin, which is why it is important to use a medical grade sunblock (SPF 30 or above) after the treatment.
How often will I need treatments?
Usually every 4 weeks for the face and every 6 weeks for the body.
